If I haven't said much about MICA- If you don't like emo kids or painfully spoiled adult-wannabes, don't go. If you have your own style without ever having had any type of artistic training, go for it. and then if you're like me, who enjoys being a real bitch about not having a style and not conforming like the kids who rebel to be unique just like everyone else, then go for it.
I have an apartment near campus now, it's small, shared and small, but it'll do.
In other news, the spring semester was very trying, much like being dropped into a foreign country. I feel very outdated, old, and like i'm the only one who "gets it" about how the world works. I had a fellow student tell me "how the system works" and what the teacher likes and doesn't like,a nd through many classes I had with him, what art is...(amazing for someone 19 and new to being an artist) He blew his one shot at my respect. Who am I to hold the respect to be given? Someone with the same artistic eye. *shrug* whatever ya know?
I did talk myself into going back, I thought about go to the Pennsylvania Academy of Art, but they are only $700 cheaper in tuition after all is said and done, and about another $4000.00 more for living expenses. They don't have the resources that MICA does either, so I guess I'm stuck.
I mean, I said I'd go to MICA, and I did, and I did it because most people thought I couldn't.
aaaaanyways, I have Life Drawing 2, Discovering the Figure, Basic Photo, Figurative Reflections, and Native American Studies. I was also supposed to have Ancient and Pre-historical art, but they didn't list it on my schedule and since I have work also, Anne and I decided it was better anyways. just means that next semester I have to take the 18 credits, OR take the 18 credits, change my on-campus work (because the fed gov't is giving me about $500 a semester in work study funds) to something very light and learn to stay awake in class. : )
enough ramblings. errands now.
